Glorious affirmation

See the double rainbow?  It stretched across the sky outside our back door last night.

I swear the rainbow ends right behind that house.  See how the light is different there?

It was an amazing sight.  A sense of peace washed over me as we stood there marveling at the rainbow, I just knew right then, that everything was going to be OK.

God keeps his promises.

Exploring

As the weather warms, so very, very, slowly.  Ben's world grows bigger, and bigger.  From a small orphanage in Armenia, to our slightly bigger corner of the globe.  Opportunities abound this little boy.

Exploring the zoo.

Exploring the great outdoors from high atop his Daddy's shoulders.

First train ride.

There is a whole word out there waiting for you buddy.  Just wait until the sun really starts to shine.

Random

A couple weeks ago, life threw us a surprising curve ball.  (Aren't they all?)  Let's just say there's been a shift in the tides, a bit of a role reversal in our household.  These are some photos of what life is like when Daddy is in charge, and Mommy is picking up extra shifts at work.

I'm thinking, life is more fun with Daddy around.  (Oh, and laundry's caught up, the house is clean, and the kids are happy, he is seriously making me look bad.)

A few years ago, this situation would have sent us into a tail spin.  I won't pretend it isn't difficult, but I think we are finally learning to make Arnold Palmers when life hands us lemons.

A trip to the museum.  Mommy looks more awake than she feels.

What a fun day we had!

Ben's first ride on a carousel.  He loved it!

Owen's dream job, glass blowing.

Look out, Owen's driving, and Ben's talking on the CB radio.  Much better than Ben driving and Owen talking, I think.

Be still my heart.

An afternoon with nature.

A radiology appointment is never just another appointment when Ben is involved.  He's a charmer!

A little pedal tractor pull action.

Go, Owen.

Forgot the stroller?  No problem, we can improvise.  Actually we think it's much better than the stroller, this might just be the way we roll from now on.  There's room for the cooler, and everything else.

The winds of change are blowing for the Brown's, who knows where they will take us.  All I can say for sure is I love my family more than ever.  I feel so very, very blessed.

A TKD Weekend

New belts for all the Brown kids.

Madeline takes 1st place at tournament.

Marney, 1st place in sparring.

Owen 3rd place in both sparring and forms.

Fun at the hotel.  Owen was having fun, he just looks like this during allergy season.  Poor guy is allergic to everything!

Sunday morning we drove to Lake Michigan hoping to get some play time in.  It was too cold!

The kids had to layer up with whatever we had.  Burr.
